Denmark, the most southerly of the Nordic nations, is a small, densely populated country, made up of a large number of islands skirted by lovely beaches. Denmark borders Sweden to the east and Germany to the south. The Øresund Bridge connects the largest Danish island, Zealand, to Sweden, while the peninsula of Jutland connects it to Germany. The third-largest island, Funen, is connected to Zealand by the Great Belt Bridge and to Jutland by the Little Belt Bridge.
