The coastline of Croatia (without islands) is 1,777 kilometers and with the islands over 6,000 kilometers. With these gigantic numbers for this otherwise relatively small country, one can imagine that there are almost countless beaches. The Croatian Adriatic (Hrvatski Jadran in Croatian) is on the rise and is only just being discovered by many tourists.

Most of the beaches in Croatia are made of gravel, but of course there are also a few sandy beaches. Many of the beaches are in small picturesque bays that invite you to dream. Almost every coastal town has urban beaches. But because of the long coastline, there are also many secluded beaches that are sometimes a little harder to reach. What is special about Croatia is the crystal clear water, which also makes for ideal diving conditions.
